Does a manifestation of a character count as the caracter in any case?

So can Strider play Return of the King or use Athelas???

No.

CRF -> Rulings by Term -> M -> Manifestation
A manifestation of a card is not the same as the named card
A manifestation of <foo> cannot play <foo> specific cards
