Questions about selling

Post by Karst »

Hi,

I am preparing a post to sell my collection of MECCG cards.

I wonder:
  • Should I include the promo cards in the set, or sell them apart?
  • What is considered to be one MEBA set: one of each different card or the union of both preconstructed deck?
Thanks for you help.

Have a nice day.

The promo cards actually aren't that valuable, except Fatty Bolger seems to be a bit more rare and he is a great card.

Certain cards might be worth selling separately:
  • METW: Assassin, The One Ring.
  • METD: Nothing really, these boxes are cheap.
  • MEDM: Not much either either... maybe a few rares but I don't think it's worth breaking up the lot.
  • MELE: The Lidless Eye, We Have Come to Kill, The One Ring, Chill them with Fear, Elf-lord Revealed in Wrath, Uruk-lieutenant.
  • MEAS: The nine R1s: The Ithil-stone, Farmer Maggot, Angmarim, Nûrniags, Bairanax Roused, Daelomin Roused, Eärcaraxë Roused, Itangast Roused, Leucaruth Roused.
  • MEBA: Best to sell as a complete set (not just 1 of each) as it is the "rares" that are valuable, not the extras cards. Stripping the rares to sell separately for sale separately probably it too much work for maybe no better return. Longbottom Leaf is especially valuable, Sauron as well.
If you just post up a list of what you have you may get a better response to determine what partitioning makes sense.

Another question if I may:
  • How can I estimate the price of a card or set?
Also, I have a lot duplicates for commons. Should I put them in the trash?

DO NOT put them in the trash - if you are willing to pack them - many a player will take them of your hand and pay for shipping

What about my 60 extra copies of Northern Rhovanion? Certainly trash right?

But what about my 40 extra copies of Wolves? Let me know if you want some.

Make them into a pair of pants and sell for $100 on etsy.

Middle-earth: The Sun-lands has about 120 sites, so you'll also need your 60 copies of Rhudaur to print and glue a full set of those. And that's of course if you only want 1 of each ;-)

I'm hoping to just wait for 2 friendly fellows to do all of the printing work for me ;-)
