Hi all,
I like to get you alls input of how we ought to deal with the corona "lockins" - around me all sports and social events get canceled - kids are home to school closing come monday, that leaves me with a lot of time on my hands
what better way to deal with that and the (GCCG downtime) but to call for an online event on cardnum?
also it will test our new server to the fullest
I like to get your alls though on that

Well you can run whatever event you want. I gotta get the password reset feature working again. But I, unfortunately, am busy with my Dad. He's got some stuff he and I have to get situated for him, and it's gonna take another week. I was barely able to squeak in the new server like I did. LOL
But go for it if you want, but basiacally I won't be able to setup the recording of games for youtube, like we talked about. Things are inconvenient on that end.
Sounds like fun, if I didn't have stuff to do.

I/m new to Cardnum as you both know lol but I will get my round it. It is very good and plays well with lots of options etc and is a good recreation of the physical game.
It has the same issue as GCCG and dear old NetMECCG in that it relies on players being on line at the same time. An on line event would solve that since players would make the effort to attend at the same time. Hold a poll to see what date and time would suit most players and go for it. Im in.

That's all you would need. Just pick a date and time that would suit as many players time zones as possible and then advertise it everywhere. The match ups etc would probably work better being called on discord.
I'd be interested in a canonical or Hamburg event, but I understand why Vastor and others might push for a DC event. Regardless, it might be nice to settle on one rules interpretation/interpreter, whatever it might be, so long as it is communicated ahead of time. If each game is its own house rules based on the two people playing, it could be more time spent on that than playing.

I think if anything we need to just start with Standard, and use the Challenge Deck rulebook. Anyone got a complete scan of that??
Most people who start off (nowdays) to just start with use Challenge Decks...
But Standard if anything, and work our way up... (or down? hehe)

Are all the Challenge Decks already available on Cardnum ? I havent checked.
A challenge deck tournament could work.
A challenge deck tournament could work.
I've been excited about the possibility of a Cardnum tournament for a while.
Here are some thoughts—
First tournament: Challenge Decks
Second tournament (sometime later): DC Challenge Decks
Each could be an ice-breaker for people.
The first would be a way to get more people to play on Cardnum.
The second could teach people (including me!) to dip their toes in DC.
Regardless of format, I am very interested in playing in a tournament.

I would propose relaxing from the ten specific Challenge Decks to any deck following the Challenge Deck format (maximum of 3 rares).
Without the option of deckbuilding, that's more than half the game gone (at least for creative types).

you can play plenty of cheeze with 3 rares you mean
also these are balance against each other - though minions are less points - so not good balance there
also the ring decks are really harsh without Rumours/Whispers
all you need to deal with these was one rolled . so no thank you no building for new players ...
