Good friends and DC afficionados,

As per usual we'll be playing on Lure Friday the DCGO (starts at 16.00), which includes cards from the First Folk and Necromancer sets.

On Sunday morning we've been hosting the DC Challenge Deck event, but interest has been on the decline last couple of years. Perhaps this is reversely correlated with the increasing age of the player base?

So for this year we want to try something else: DC Open Arena.
In DC Open Arena we'll be doing casual DC games with a serious purpose: play testing.

You can bring a legal DC deck with cards from all our sets, released or not.
We will provide a few decks, this year Northern Waste decks, for people without a deck.
And we'll also bring a number of First Folk/Necromancer only challenge decks, for those without much DC knowledge who want to join.

so, if you want to try your Dragon or Atani-lord deck and can't wait until those sets are finished, now's your chance to get those cards to the table (IRL) first!
nb. the cards on cardnum are the current versions that should be used.

hope to c.u. at Lure!
Eric & Nicolai

Lure XXI DCGO tournament results (3 rounds):

1 Mario (Sauron) 16 TP
2 Karsten (Sauron) 14 TP
3 Michel (Necromancer) 14 TP
4 Eric (Dwar) 12 TP
5 Thomas (Radagast) 12 TP
6 Hervé (Elrond) 7 TP
7 Marc (Pallando) 7 TP
8 Heiko (Elrond) 6 TP
10 Jordy (Radagast) 6 TP
11 Philip (Elrond) 6 TP
12 Nicolai (Thorin) 4 TP
13 Björn (Balrog) 4 TP
14 Dominique (Galadriel) 4 TP
15 Franck (Thranduil, 11 TP but had to drop last round, sadly)
16 Daniel (Necromancer, 4 TP, dropped)

So, even though they are in the minority, it's clear that Evil has the upper hand! Moreover it's the big Boss from Lugburz himself who reigns supreme. Karsten even managed to bring the One Ring to Barad-dûr twice. Other than that, Elrond Half-elven continues to be popular, and nobody but Nicolai seems to like Dwarves

This many Sauron players at the top did present a minor problem in the last round with the pairing, as we give preference to cross alignmenent pairing (or at least no conflict of avatar), over tournament points. Next time guys, bring decks to play against both alignments! (that's DCGO after all). On the other hand, if Franck had not been forced to drop, the pairing would not have been a problem. Anyway, great to have you all back at the castle, and hope to see you next Lure in 2022.

:P :D :) Do not forget this DC ruling :
A Fallen-wizard is a Wizard, but a Fallen-maïa is not a Maïa...

for the purpose of hazard play, that is indeed correct

Wizards are also Maiar after all, but you don't want Alatar boosting an attack by Sauron (which is what Dominique refers to).
