R058 --- Transferring Legal Use of Hero Elven Ring Resources
What if Elrond, Galadriel, have their spirits sent to the Halls of Mandos?
Or Gandalf ran out of extra lives? Who then uses the elven ring?
Gil-galad bestowed Vilya to Elrond likely before the Battle of Oroduin.
Corruption that eliminated either character allows that character
to be a fallen-lord during the Avatar decks.
Power Deck corruption will be handled differently; still thinking of that.
What happens on other elimination such as from a body check?
I would say before the game begins, each player with an Elven Ring bearer
makes a list of 10 names of unique characters with a MP value.
This list will be the sequence of characters that can use the hero resource.
A player cannot just play the elven ring resource on a character that a previously
and currently non-eliminated character used. This is not Sting.
Nb.
Elrond Half-elven makes a list to start the game:
- Elrond
Erestor
Elladan
Elrohir
Glorifindel
Gildor
Ascarnil
Celeborn
Saruman
Alatar
The elven ring hero resource is used by the first non-eliminated
character in this list. Skipping of a name is done by one of the following:
character already eliminated,
shown to be in play by another player,
currently a prisoner,
or otherwise in a situation not able to use the resource.
What if a non-avatar manifestation is influenced away?
That owner of steal can use the hero resource if in the deck.
Other thoughts:
What if a name is skipped when that character is a prisoner, then released?
The list can be modified to start a turn; the first thing done by that player.
That is if Erestor is the ringbearer and he is at Weathertop with Elladan knowing
roadblock can keep them there AND four trolls are also at the site. The list
can be updated to give the ring to Elladan upon Erestor's death.
Then can Vilya be used by both during the same turn?
Elven Ring hero resource can only be used by one unique character per turn.
What happens to the "hero elven ring" upon the elimination of ringbearer
away from a hero haven? Does the ring get dropped into a river for others to find?
The ring will be "lost" until played as a minion ring item or used by the new ringbearer
via the hero resource card. Yes, somehow the ring was found.
Then I would say this if "lost" : Minion elven ring item can be played as any other minion ring special item.
Its testing/rolls will be equal to the One Ring rolls on Black Rain,
and add to all minion gold ring items:
an Elven Ring (11,12+)
But of course only the specific elven ring that is "lost."
Smeagol player can play the elven ring minion item at the last site of eliminated ringbearer.
Nice precious. Just shove the card into the sideboard; may just put all Rings of Power in sideboard to start game.
What if a new ringbearer, like a Wizard, gets corrupted and becomes fallen? Get on a ship and sail west.
