Who dropped the bomb?

It's been so quiet in gccg lately (past few months) up to a point where it becomes scary and worrysome. Anybody got any ideas as to why the interest is failing? Even regular customers are absent.

i lost interest in the moment i couldn't find someone to play with, so a tournament would be nice.

I have been assuming that the site is down. Is there somewhere else to play?

Well ok then,
I am proposing a tourney of 4 rounds, 1st round sealed, 2nd round GO, 3rd round VC, 4th DC, that should really prove he has the guts to perform top notch in all types of the game!
so what do you think, do we got players for such an event?

Hi all, to reduce the number of deck building for the event, we ought to maybe play either all 4 or just 2 out of 4 as hero only event (so also Fallen)
or minion only, that way there is no need to build 6-8 new decks just 3-4

Everytime I try to go to the site I get the message "connection failed, working offline".

you need to edit your metw.bat file so your gccg can connect to the server.
your file has to read something like this:
metw.bat wrote:@echo off
set HOME=C:
set USER=Windows
set CLIENT=.\ccg_client.exe
if exist .\home set HOME=.\home
if exist module_windows32\ccg_client.exe set CLIENT=module_windows32\ccg_client.exe
start %CLIENT% --server
http://www.councilofelrond.org --user %USER% --full %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 metw.xml
note the part about "--server
http://www.councilofelrond.org", that is the important part

Marcos,
Thanks for your help but I'm still having problems. I probably need to find someone more computer-savy than me to help solve this problem.

It works for me but only
without the "--server http://www.councilofelrond.org"-entry in the metw.bat file.

seems my metw.bat file has that line missing completely. Anyway, just use svn to update your core and you should get the correct metw.bat file I suppose
@Nicolai. Interesting format for tourney, but I fear people won't like making 3 decks for a tourney that only get played once. The allround championships is more something for Worlds or a several day event I think.
How bout something like:
1st round: sealed (get started, have more time to prepare your GO decks)
2nd: GO, you may include any VC cards as you like
3rd: DCGO
4th: the player in the pairing with the lowest score decides the format
this way you'd need 2 decks, GO and DCGO, and you can play either one twice
we could also skip sealed and make it 5 rounds, 2 rounds of each and 5th round lowest score player decides
either way it would be good to see if VC cards could survive in a GO tourney.

I like this idea of tournament too.
When will it be planned ?

Or another idea: have two decks, GO and DCGO, and the lowest score in the pairing determines the format each round! If you loose, you can redeme yourself with your other deck, if you win you can't complain anyway. Not sure how to handle ties (flip a coin).
or extend it to total mayhem, especially useful in online tourneys that take several days or weeks: the lowest score in the pairing can choose from ANY available 2 player format. You fear Marcos' GO deck or you're fed up with Heiner's Balrog, just play Highlander against him
