I'm not very expirienced at playing against Minions....
so my greathest problem is in designing a hazard startegie that not only works on minions but also the balrog....

I wanted to built a deck before going to Lure Tomorrow....
So it would be greath if some of you could give me some insights...
or maybe there is some kind of guide online and you just have to post me a link....
(or just some hazard decklists would be find too)

So it would be greath if you could help me!!!

- Elves + Maia
- Orcs (with Buthrakaur + Umagaur)
- Undead (with Whisp of Pale Sheen + River or heavy Undead rain)
- Corruption (one of the most underrated hazards vs minion)
- mixed hazard

.... just to name a few...

Actually, Doors of Night strategies work very well against minion. Using cards like these:

- Nameless thing
- Darkness under tree
- Doubled Vigilance
- Ahunt dragons (if they don't hit you, of course)
- Chokng shadows (against wolfie decks)
- Awaken the earth`s fire (against decks like red hills)

Marcos, that's the most annoying hazard portion in existence -- don't spread it around. ;)

Events:

so to give a few examples :)

again... sorry... but are orks and undeads still good enough... allthough they only attack as detainment?

Well, it depends on where are they keyed to. They attack as detainment when keyed to shadow or dark holds, but will attack normally when keyed to ruins and lairs or wilderness to give an example.

Also, there are some cute tricks, like attacking with Umagaur/Buthrakaur. The creatures played after those don't attack keyed to anything, and therefore aren't detainment. Note that can even attack a balrog deck if they are moving to one of their havens :!:

Tapping Minions:

To keep up with the common hero/FW deck most minion decks must score more than one thing each round (there stuff is worth less MP). Take a Balrog Under-Deep deck for example. Getting into the site is tough so you should play at least two items and maybe an ally there to make it worth it. A simple Heedless Revelry taps them all out after the first item and all he gets is a 2 MP item.... :P

So if you manage to tap most guys they simply dont get their combos out. In other decks minions travel alone (through Mordor for example). Tap those lonely wanderers and they cant do anything.

Or simply tap the rangers and play River...

Mixed hazards:

This is a mixed hazard portion I use in one of my tournament decks:

1 Adûnaphel (TW)
2 An Unexpected Outpost (DM)
1 Cave Worm (TD)
2 Cave-drake (TW)
1 Daelomin at Home (TD)
1 Foolish Words (TD)
1 Gandalf the White Rider (AS)
3 Heedless Revelry (LE)
1 Itangast Ahunt (TD)
1 Lady of the Golden Wood (AS)
1 Mouth of Sauron (TW)
1 My Precious (DM)
1 Nameless Thing (DM)
1 Power Built by Waiting (AS)
1 Pûkel-men (TW)
1 Rain-drake (TD)
1 Rats! (LE)
1 Revealed to all Watchers (DM)
3 River (LE)
1 Sellswords Between Charters (LE)
1 Smaug Ahunt (TD)
3 Twilight (TW)
1 Witch-king of Angmar (TW)
1 Ûvatha the Horseman (TW)
