TOKEN TO SHOW ‐ Permanent‐event (C)
Minion characters may store resources (items and events) during the end‐of‐turn phase as though it were their
organization phase. Cannot be duplicated. Discard when any play deck is exhausted.
SAFE FROM THE SHADOW ‐ Permanent‐event (C)
Hero characters may store resources (items and events) during the end‐of‐turn phase. Cannot be duplicated. Discard when any
play deck is exhausted.
Say I'm playing FW and I have an company with orcs in it. One of those orcs has the sapling of the white tree, and I want to store it during my end of turn phase to be able to play the White Tree this turn. Which of these two cards should I use?

Ok, but what would be the reasoning behind this?
By looking at the ME:WH rules, the only that's clear is this:
All of your non-Orc/-Troll characters are considered to be hero
characters.
But that does imply that Orc and Troll characters are considered minion?

Yes. That does not imply that Orc and Troll characters are considered minion. Nothing (I know) implies that.
You may use both hero and minion characters.
from the sam paragraph suggests that there may be some characters that are considered minion characters for FW player.
Deduction indicates that Orc/-Troll characters are some candidates.

It's in the Characters section.
White Hand says that you can use hero and minions. Orcs and trolls are minions. That's clear from MEDM and MELE. And in MEWH only non-orcs/trolls are considered hero.

Except there is the issue with:
MEWH wrote:Corruption checks for an Orc or Troll character are handled as if he were a minion character.
"as if he were" may imply that he is not.
However, CoE saves the day:

To This:
Unless otherwise outlined below, Orc and Troll characters in play by a Fallen-wizard player are subject to the rules for Orc and Troll characters in play by a minion player, and companies containing an Orc or Troll are subject to the rules for company composition for a minion player.

It may if taken out of context. But certainly the Fallen Wizard's Orcs and Trolls looks like minion characters and smell like a minion characters. And nothing in MEWH changes that.

On the balance, MEWH implies that you can use minion characters:
- However, you can only exert your influence and control over the weaker heroes and minions--the more powerful characters can sense your greed and weaknesses.
- Characters - You may use both hero and minion characters.
- Starting Characters Your starting characters (up to 5) may include hero characters and minion characters
- Optional Rules. Wizard to Fallen-wizard Conversion. You (as a Wizard player) may include stage resource cards, minion resources, minion characters, and up to two Fallen-wizard character cards in your sideboard.
The phrase "
Corruption checks for an Ore or Troll character are handled as if he were a minion character" could merely be a copy and paste of the earlier MEWH statement "
Corruption checks for a Fallen-wizard are handled as if he were a minion character."
