Gold Chains in the Wind

Normally a short-event is played, resolves (or fizzles), then discarded. But with Gold Chains:

- Does Gold Chains stay on the table until after the attack? Otherwise there's like an invisible ally on the table.
- Does Gold Chains become the ally?
- If so, does leaving the game equate to discarding Gold Chains? Or must Gold Chains be removed from the game?

hopefully this has not been answered somewhere already.

I think that if the card Gold Chains in the Wind would become an ally, then its text would be like "discard this card/remove this card from game when the attack is finished".
An ally is created, which will leave game at some point, then target character makes corruption check modified by -4, then the card Gold Chains in the Wind is discarded.

So to be clear, the Gold Chains card stays on the table until after its created ally has faced the strike?

I think he was saying that the card is discarded after the corruption check, and the ally created lasts even when the card is not in play.

Yes. He was saying so.

So Akhorahil can use his Unleashed card 3x and play the same Gold Chains 4x against 1 attack?

personally I find invisible allies more weird than a short-event that stays on the table for the duration of an attack :-)

It is not without precedent; the Witch-King turns into an invisible long-event.

But the Witch-king as long-event doesn't do any fighting.

Incite Denizens, Incite Minions - should they stay in play until end of turn?

the automatic-attacks they target/duplicate/boost do not leave play, do they?

[Only duplicate (do not target/boost; Incite Denizens/Incite Minions target a site)]
If they leave, then from reasons independent from Incite Denizens/Incite Minions.
What is your point?

And regardless of the point:
Whole Village Roused - should be kept with target site?

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything; he's still interacting with cards in play, though his card is not in play itself.

Also, Agents may be revealed at a site even if the site is unavailable, meaning that they're at, for example, an invisible Minas Tirith.

That is obviously the problem here, you fail to see the subtle distinction, and I fail to explain the relevance. Perhaps its an intuitive matter.

Obviously I'm not suggesting cards not in play atm cannot have an effect (duh), how else would Vilya's and the likes work? But when you're fighting something, it would be nice if what you're fighting is in play. If my Bifur, Bofur and Bombur attack Akhorahil and he conjures up 3 Gold Chains, it would be nice if my Dwarves can see what kills them. Perhaps they're undead, but they're still corporeal and/or visible.

But you are not absolutely excluding other possibility? Right?
Maybe its also intuitive matter, but I think that not being a card has some peculiarities - inability to perform some actions that make sense only for a card.
Non-card entity cannot tap for support (and for anything), cannot be tapped, or discarded (ally may survive removing its controlling character from active play), or returned to hand.
I think that similarly Witch-king as long-event cannot be discarded e.g. by Marvels-told (but may be canceled by Praise to Elbereth, like Stealth's effect may canceled by Searching Eye).
