Lucky Search finding Uniques

The card spoiler posted on this site, as well as the CRF at MECCG.net do not seem to reflect this, but my vague recollection is that the version of Lucky Search printed in the Challenge decks excludes both special items, and unique items prevented from being in play by virtue of their uniqueness.

What I mean is that you turn over cards until you find a non-special item not prevented from being in play because it is unique and another manifestation of it is already in play, place this item with the scout, blah blah.

Is this so, and if not, what is the ruling on what happens if you do turn over a card that is prevented from being in play because of uniqueness?

Thanks,
Olorin

Unique cards that are already in play may not enter play. Lucky Search does not override this.

I agree, and understand. However, Lucky Search says to turn over cards until you find a non-special item or reach teh end of the deck, and if you foud an item, play it.

So, does the card explode, or do cards that cannot be played by virtue of uniqueness just get skipped like any other card, and you continue to reveal cards?

Thanks,

That's an excellent question, but my hunch is that you would skip cards already in play and continue on.

Sometimes action listed on card cannot be done and then next action is executed.

Diplomat ally cannot make cc, so does not fail cc too, so Token of Goodwill may continue. No untapped characters in Gandalf's company, so next action from Narya is executed (-5 cc).
