what do you think about having experts for specific tasks here in the COE board?
there are a couple of people i thinking of:
- the site admins for example (at least one)
- ted badiuk, who is known as THE trading guy. also he is willing to do some work that is needed.
- alex köhler, who is very skilled in illustrating. his support would be very helpful for the dreamcard and virtual projects.
- the netrep (mikko vihtemaki at the moment)
- anybody else?

of course all of them would do their work also if not part of the COE. but it would be easier for them when being part of the process and discussions.
ideas?

Sure, I see no problem with that.
Though I also don't see the need for it currently, but it might change. For the moment this section is about general policy issues.

btw I don't know who has access, but others/old members seem to still have access, at least Darksatin posted recently here I seem to recall and he's no council member?

i have no idea who has access and who does not. there is a COE group that obviously has access, but this list is out of date.
look here:
http://www.councilofelrond.org/forum/me ... group&g=33

maybe part of the COE forum is public?
i hope one of the admisn can shed some light on this soon.

btw: i got word from steffen, that he is in paris att he moment. will be in germany on thursday (only for a short time) and handle a few things (except one of the other admins (josh, mark) is faster)

The national spokespersons we were talking about in the topic "Charter Amendment (and/or rewrite) Involving Errata" here:
http://www.councilofelrond.org/forum/vi ... f=2&t=1498

By the way, the idea is fine. While the topics are opened, we can invite non-CoE members to take part to the discussions and we'll give them abilitation to post messages.

I say YES to the proposal. We can only benefit from these experts.

alright, thre is a general consense.
so before i start adding experts here and there, i will nominate section leaders.
right now we have those section (leaders in brackets):

- gccg (wigy)
- rules&rulings (netrep: mikko vihtemaki?)
- judge certification project (mark alfano)
- marketplace (ted badiuk)
- arda (joe bisz, eric dane)
- dreamcards (nico willinek, eric dane)
- virtual cards (joe bisz, eric dane)

anything else? anything to correct?

those who are in charge of a section may have other experts added. right now there are already several people part of these section. i had a quick look at those lists, and honestly: most of them seem to be out of date. if changes are wnated here, jsut tell me ...

I highly recommend Konrad Klar as a rules expert. I often disagree with his conclusions, but his understanding of the rules and their flaws is flawless. :)

Not sure what you mean here with sections and section leaders.
My proposal would be to appoint to each CoE project a CoE member (or 2) as a leader, responsible for pulling the cart. He can then summon support and bring in experts and function as coordinator.
For example:

-Rulings/Errata: Ben (leader), expert: Mikko (NetRep), Mark (former rep.)
-Website: Marcos (leader), expert: Josh?
-Charter rewrite: Wolfgang/Eric (Bruno?)
-gccg: Nicolai (leader), expert: wigy/wlk

something like that. This of course doesn't discharge other CoE members to put in their cents. In other words: Joe Bisz, waky waky rise and shine?!?!

i was rather compiling the status quo as it has shown to me here in the forum. thus i waas using the term "section", but its about the same things as your "projects" more or less.
but i like you system better anyway. so there should be a COE member in chrage of the project; not necessarrily the expert, but at least with some insight. good. 2 would even be better in case one is absent.

so lets have a list of projects first, before appointing leaders and experts:
- Rulings/Errata
- Website
- Charter rewrite
- gccg
- players directory
- prizes (COE packages for tourenys)
- promoting the game
- dreamcards
- virtual cards
- UEP
- JCP
- marketplace
- national councils
- newsletter
- deck section/play tipps in the forum

anything else??

guess its best that each of us says which of the projects he would like to to join.
here are my picks:

- players directory
- prizes (COE packages for tourenys)
- promoting the game
- marketplace
- national councils
- newsletter

quite a lot, but in most of them i am already quite involved anyway.

I'm available (or most useful) for:
-Charter rewrite
-Dreamcards
-Virtual Cards
-UEP
-national councils

What does JCP stand for?
