one greath thing I always hated about METW is that gandalf was so bad...
I know he can play Nenja... but I don't think that's it enough to make him playable...
I almoste never see him played by anybody...

As we have now the chance to... we should change that with the virtual cards...

why make a V card version of gandalf?
Why not just add the Fallen-Wizard ability...
The Fallen wizards where just clones of the original...
exept for gandalf. because he was the wortst...

Gandalf needs this untap ability...
and it is also very flavourful...
because this would make him the uncoruptablest wizard... because he can do removing corruption cards without tapping in this case...

and it even makes the hobbit lore card better...

You may have overlooked a few things --

First, Gandalf's Home Site is any Haven, allowing him a great deal more leeway than other Wizards.

Secondly, a +1 to corruption checks is nothing to sneeze at.

Thirdly, Narya in spite of its corruption checks is also not to be disregarded -- it untaps the entire company. That card alone makes Gandalf the best support Wizard in the game, so long as you play it right.

Granted, Pallando's the best squatting Wizard, and Alatar and Radagast will tie for active Wizard -- but Gandalf works best as a helper in a company, which I feel is entirely thematic with what he was in the books.

As a side note, he can test Rings without clogging up deck space.

While Hobbit-Lore is an often brought up subject for virtualizing, I'm not sure the same is needed for Gandalf himself.

everything you tell seems nice if you tell it...

but to tell the truth:
I have never seen anybody play gandalf!

so I think he cannot be as good as it seems...
(and nenya even has a -5 corruption check which is a lot and can normaly not be handelt without another helping card ... which needs additional deck space!)

I'm not talking about that he must be made very much better...
but just adding the abilitie he has as a fallen wizard would make him worth playing enough... (I'm talking about the ablitie which untaps him at end of organisation phase)

I've seen more than a few decks based on the Elven-Ring idea alone -- Gandalf goes gathering whily Galadriel at Lorien has him automatically pass corruption and Elrond recycles one of each of the three elven rings.

He can often be seen around Gondor decks, as well. Others may disagree with me, but I don't think Gandalf's sufficiently weak or unplayed enough to be boosted.

If Hobbit-Lore is virtualized, Gandalf receives an indirect boost. Saruman received a boost in much the same with the Virtual First of the Order. I think that's the way to go -- alter avatar-specific cards before altering the avatar themselves.

I would still love to see gandalf have the untap abilitie...
also because of the consistence...
why is he teh only FW that has an additional abilitie....
not like the others who are exact mirrors of their original...
(I think this was done because gandalf was the worst of the wizards)

I see enough Gandalf face play to be honest. I dont think he needs a virtualisation.
