Something that always bugged me in METW, is that you do not realy have a greath variety of Minor iteams that are playable.
And nor realy a choice which to play....
the choice is merely taken away form you, because there are so few of them playable.
The only ones I always see played are:
-Cram (most of the time!!!)
-Healing Herbs
- Elfstone
and I believe it's nearly the same with minions....
because everything else is just worse!
So my question is... doesn't METW need more Minor iteam variety.
The major problem with the other minor iteams is that they are just too bad.
Mainly because all of them give corruption. So they are not even interesting for later gameplay, because it just makes your character weaker to corruption, if you play a deggar of westerness, for example.
So there is no point in doing it.
Am I the only one who is anyed by this fact... or do I miss something?
So shouldn't be the solution to more minor iteam play not be cards like Armoury-V...but just BETTER minor iteams`???
I would realy apreciate to see a deggar of westerness without CP...
or a at least playable version of drought of prowless, (or however it is called).... the wacky stuff that gives your chacters +1 prowless...
Please tell me if you see it the same way????

There are a bunch of usefull minor items in the DreamCards Format:
Backpack: Allows you to bring minor items on the table, that cannot be with a starting company just for tapping character and discarding backpack.
Blood-stone Amulet: Cancel Pûkel-creatures, so stones, glittering cave and stone circle should be a must in your play deck.
Mounted Lance: +2/+2 prowess/body if bearer controlls an horse ally! all that for just 1 corruption point.
There is a stage card, that allows you to play hoard items in starting company.
And to avoide corruption points in general you can play cards like Orders from Lugburz, Rumours of Rings etc.
Backpack: Allows you to bring minor items on the table, that cannot be with a starting company just for tapping character and discarding backpack.

I agree with you in principle. The main difficulty is in coming up with useful minor items that are not more useful than Major items.
armory V and cup of farewell V helps a lot to those minor items that are normally worthless to include.
The rest of the items are more less playable, mainly in starting companies, i have seen most of them being played often, though i agree that cram is the most played one, but that is why you get to play 2 in your starting comp

Bandobras is right, minor items are a treat, they should not have to be important, so it is difficult to design them with the right balance in tactical use and cps/playability. I do not really share the analisis that minors are not used enough for heroes: herbs, black arrow, elven rope, horn of anor, elf stone, star-glass, shield of iron...alll used quite often. Even Miruvor has its uses. Or Thror's map anyone?
Funny enough it's for minions that minor items suck, while they have less corruption issues and should be able to carry more weapons. So if anything, we should focus on minion minor item play, and I think Bandobras has made quite a few proposals.
But indeed, there are also many startable permanents that kinda push minors from the stage, like Orders/Whispers/Open to summons (for heroes also: Tower Raided V, Ancient Stair/Wondrous Maps V, Master Esgaroth). So a card for minions that makes minors easily playable while the game is underway might be more useful than new items themselves.
btw. The fact that this is about virtuals obviously doesn't mean you can't draw inspiration from dreamcards....
- Master of Esgaroth V already lets you start a hoard minor, but unfortunately it is specialised. A Mathom Lore V starting perm allowing you to start with a hoard minor or with a Knowledge minor? (useful for missions or information)

- I like some Arda ideas also, Jewel A and Scabbard A might not be overpowered in a constructed game.
