Gollum's Fate V: permanent-event, mp (-) miscelaneous
Playable on the non-dwarf bearer of a ring special item during the site phase at an untapped Ruins or Shadowhold. Tap bearer and site to play Gollum with the bearer. At the end of your untap phase, make a roll and subtract the mp value of the ring(s) controller of Gollum bears. Each character tapping in support adds 2 to the roll. If the result is less than 5, discard Gollum and a ring his controller bears (opponent's choice). At the Council, you must make this roll twice. This card is worth the combined mp value of any rings controller bears. Discard this card and Gollum when controller bears no ring.
When this card comes into play, opponent may take a hazard-event that mentions 'ring' from sideboard or discard-pile to playdeck.

Rings attrackt Gollum. But if you want to tame the guy, beware. The more powerful the ring, the more treacherous Gollum becomes and you better have some faithful servants with you that keep an eye open. But also, the more credit you get.
Having Gollum is obviously a great advantage. Opponent can't play Stinker/My Precious, can't win the game with him,and he's a useful ally. The power of this card however comes with serious risks.
Peferably I'd want this card to be played early in the game. First version had it as a starting resource and you can grab Gollum from deck. The earlier you play it, the more advantage you have, and the more risk. But Gollum's fate is unique, and if you don't keep the card with Gollum, it can be played for no effect other than to prevent opponent to play Gollum's Fate. Now however you have the option it is played in the last turn, to a minor risk and great possible mp benefit. However, this also means opponent has had time to play his version of the guy.
Only problem is with big dwarven companies, minimizing the risk, hence non dwarf. Don't see Dwarf have the patience to tame Gollum anyway.

There are quite a few cards that mention ring, and not all of them have to do with rings, like Call of Home, Spells of Barrow Wight, Wound of Long Burden,Waylaid and Orc-dragged or The Nazgul Abroad. Yet I didn't see any problematic ones, logically this will be used to get Rolled Down, The Precious, or something like that.
Stone-age did not end because man ran out of rocks.
