Hello fellow members of the MECCG community,

It's been almost two years since the last election, which means that it is time for a new election that will define the next chapter in the Council of Elrond history. To try to get more in line with the calendar year, we are aiming to appoint the new Council around the beginning of January, 2027 (instead of a month later, like last term).

Voting will start on December 18th, 2025, and will be open for two weeks. After that, the Council for 2027-2028 will be formed.

If you believe that you have the time, energy, enthusiasm, and ideas to volunteer and serve our community, please consider nominating yourself! We need a solid group of enthusiastic individuals, because the responsibilities of the Council are many:
i) Maintaining a comprehensive rules database online, which will compile all known rules, errata, and clarifications for MECCG; and maintaining an open communication channel where players can send their rules questions in order to receive an official answer from the Council.

ii) Promoting the game of MECCG, including maintaining a player directory and contact list for various nations that will be located on the forum (i.e. The Global Player List), encouraging or hosting online tournaments, and holding an in-person World Tournament once a year, alternating between the American and European continents (and when deemed appropriate, also holding a World Tournament online).

iii) Maintaining a positive environment in which community members may engage with each other and the game, including maintaining a Code of Conduct for the forum, handling any interpersonal issues or complaints, and offering similar support to other MECCG platforms not directly maintained by the Council (at the discretion of the platform’s owner(s)).

iv) Improving the future growth and enjoyment of MECCG with the production of new sets (i.e. Dream Cards), including coordinating the development and production of such sets and making them available to the community when possible.

v) Providing online hosting for official documents, actions, and news of the Council, including providing the community with a digital space for discussion.

vi) Overseeing internal Council issues and administrative tasks, including updating this Charter when necessary.
If you would like to be a candidate, please post a reply in this same thread telling us more about yourself, your involvement with MECCG, and your ideas for the new term. Feel free to ask any questions here or via PM. Thank you!

Hi guys,

most of you will already know me, so I will keep the introduction of myself short. I play this game for about 30 years and was quite successful by winning 4 WC and 2 EC title. Meanwhile I have more free time than the years before and a part of it I would love to invest in the council work in order to keep this great game alive. Especially I think I could bring some added value to rule discussions and enhancements and have in addition time to participate in the tasks mentioned above.

So if you think I am a suitable candidate I would appriciate if you vote for me ;-).

Cheers

Dear all,

it would be a honour for me to serve in the CoE for a 3rd term. I still see myself able to contribute in particular to the game promotion and in organising, coordinating or supporting tournaments and gatherings.

Hello everyone:

Many of you already know me, but I'll introduce myself anyway: My name is Miguel Ortiz (Siraynad online). Like everyone else, I started playing in the 90s, but because I had no one to play with, I stopped for 20 years. In 2020, with the pandemic, I started collecting again and met the online gaming community. They really taught me how to play, and I began participating in online tournaments and later organizing them, with the goal of helping the community as they had helped me before. Among my achievements, I've taught several players, and I've also brought in some new players by introducing them to WhatsApp groups and websites that have so much material for new players (manuals, rules, YouTube videos, etc.) and motivating them to play in the community.

Regarding tournaments, I've won several, including the 2025 Online World Championship, so I think I can help with rules-related matters.

Finally, I am part of the current COE, and I have been in charge of organizing tournaments with Marc and have supported the rules committee. A first term always takes some getting used to, and I must admit that it was difficult at first, but over the months I have adapted, contributing to my colleagues and the tasks, with very good results. I believe in the organization of the online tournaments and the rankings we are maintaining. I think a second term would be good to consolidate what we are building and bring new tournaments that can be entertaining and challenging for the community (like the "I'll-favoured Avatar" tournament that we are planning for early 2027).

I would appreciate your vote so that we can continue with these tournaments and ideas that are still in development.

Best regards.
