Here's an invitation for everyone. Please come and join us at OrcCon 2014! (Strategicon.net)

All three Middle Earth CCG Events have been approved for OrcCon 2014.
For Saturday February 15
Challenge Decks from 12nn-4pm, and
Constructed Deck event from 5pm-9pm.
For Sunday February 16
Dragon Hoard Scenario. 12nn-4pm.

To those not familiar with the Dragon hoard here is the URL: http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/1 ... hoard.html I think its a nice scenario to go with the current Hobbit movie. You don't avoid dragon country, you GO to dragon country!

BTW Proxies are OK! So... Dust off those decks... Let's get ready to Muster!

Hi people! Back from OrcCon 2014. We had 2 less players at Orcon 2014 compared to last September's Gateway 2013 but last year, we only had 6 players and one event from OrcCon 2013. All nine players for this convention's events were all present last September during Gateway 2013 as well.

We again had a blast! Happy to report that all 3 events for meccg were well participated. Eight players for Challenge decks, eight for contructed. Both events were held on Saturday. The Dragon Hoard scenario done on Sunday had all players from the previous day come back and added one more for a total of nine. And from my understanding, all are willing to comeback next may for Strategicon: Gamex 2014.

Thanks again to Red Arrow for hosting not one, not two, but three MECCG events over the Presidents Day holiday weekend! The new venue at the LAX Hilton was quite decent, as we seemed to have more rooms and table space than ever before!

Challenge decks were on Saturday afternoon, and I went in with Minion Deck G to provide some variety to the proceedings. I remember rolling in the first game and fighting to a draw in the third game, but the highlight was a first-turn meltdown to Hero Deck A in the second game! My first move was met with Two or Three Tribes Present, then Orc Watch, then more orcs--I hesitated to use my Foul-Smelling Pastes, and by then it was too late to stop the bleeding. The coup de grace was an Alone and Unvadvised on the now unescorted Lieutenant, who then suffered the ignominy of rolling a "3", and the massacre was complete. Nice job, Dan! :D

Constructed decks were during Saturday evening, and I rolled out a Fallen Alatar deck again to provide some diversity. The plan was to arm up and load up on stage points to begin The Great Hunt asap, but in the first game it proved difficult to hunt elf and dwarf hazards. Peath was able to defeat a Nazgul, and that proved to be the difference. Second game was more of the same, my opponent was reluctant to show creatures to a hunting Alatar, who nevertheless managed to run down a Dwarven Travelers. In the third game, a relentless Smaug appeared multiple times at the Lonely Mountain, with the attempts to cancel his decisive first attack covered by Prowess of Age and Many Sorrows Befall. He would not give up his gold so easily!

We played the Dragon Horde scenario on Sunday afternoon, and the combination of the previous day's events, late-night designing, and the difficulty of the scenario clearly took their toll. But everyone in the core group at the LA convention had an awesome time, and we plan to reconvene during the Memorial Day weekend. There will definitely be a constructed event, but we are also thinking of using the Arda format to help introduce new players, and for a change of pace. Thanks everyone!

I've been trying to show pics from the con but the program kept telling me that the attachment is an invalid file. Maybe its too big or I probably need an online album to host it or just "user error". Until I figure it out checkout http://redarrowsmark.blogspot.com/ to see the pics of players who were at the event

Greetings All,

Starting to look at Gamex 2015 in the LAX Hilton for the Memorial Day weekend! Have also moved to the LA area (actually near Riverside), so occasional weekend MECCG is also a possibility! Please reply here or PM me, thanks!
