You're probably right, the Gandiman is the ringlore master, though Sharku might disagree  It would be nice indeed to see more Gandalf play if he can actually make good of his ringtesting ability.

Okay, just saw the discussion at the development zone, so didn't get that about the slots. On the other hand, I'd say it's more important to get the strategy right than have the right amount of slots or whatever, I can't really see why that is of such a concern, even if they come in the next set, be...

just see this section of the board now  I do not always log in when visiting the forum, so I kind of missed it for a long time, since I didn't have the time to do any serious commenting, but interesting to see the development to where we are now. Not wanting to redo the discussion there/here, b...

Useful, powerful, and good for the badbeards, I like it! But of course, like Boder has said: it should also give SP's, otherwise you have an advantage without disadvantage. So I'd propose a minimum SP requirement of 7 (like others), which is thematical also (you have to be a on your way to be...

Right, but you forgot the bit about the One-ring.
Maybe it could be made more powerfull still, but with drawbacks of course. Why not let sage tap to test a gold ring, make a CC, and this card gives 1 CP?

Striking example, because 1) Chill them is a long-event, 2) Elf-lords are worth 3 mp, 3) there are actually even more cancellers against Elves, 4) Elf-lord is supposed to be God (Glorfindel), and even so most will agree he's overpowered, 5) Elves upon Errantry don't suck at all, 6) Elf-lord will not...

How can you justify they need prowess by pointing out all the ways their attacks can be avoided? If they voice Darkness, then the prowess booster doesn't do much either, does it? Only a character with prowess 8 has an average chance to survive Old Man! And they can be keyed to single wilderness (wit...

well you can always untap site with stuff like Look more Closely (heros), or Secret Book (minions). I'd say just can't be duplicated on given sage, how you're going to have even more Ringlore? Not many people would have 3 sages in company just for a pesky 1 mp bonus.

but why the extra prowess? You really think Old Man needs to be 2@15, or Ent 2@16? Just for 1 MP, and then 6 body? 9 out of 10 times the second attack would be tapped for anyway, except for Huorn. If you think Huorn is still too weak, even with the extra attack and the possible regenerating, then be...

Actually Boder that is an interesting proposal too! now I see where you were getting at. Though, an exception for the one should be made, because otherwise it would be another plus to One-ring rolls. You'd still need a test card though, and you waste the turn/card management even more for not...

No, didn't see that deck on GCCG, but I've seen plenty One-ring decks in the course time. If you're out for the One, you need either plenty of luck or plenty of rolls, there's no other way around it (except Under-grottos, but then you're a bit out of the way). So most people use Wizards Test anyway....

not sure what you mean Boder, Ringlore offers the trade-off, worse turn/cardmanagement for certainty of testing the bigger rings. If you mean make a Ringlore V: 'test a ring +1 or -1, your choice', then nobody would play the Test of Form anymore. Apart from Boder (thanks Boder), nobody really gave t...

Well, the technicalities and wordings aside, this card is really cool indeed! But why the [-me_bl-] restriction? I see no reason for it thematically, Isengard is in a borderland after all, and it weakens the card needlessly. It does make Akhorakill even stronger though, that's what's worrying, maybe...
