A note of caution on possible trade scams
I had recently been asked by a user of this forum for a trade involving several cards. As they couldn't provide any references I insisted on them shipping first. Now with about a month gone by, the shipment has not arrived and my recent PMs still haven't left my outbox (i.e. haven't been read, obvio...

Re: Modified art
The orc painting on the right is not the original but a re-paint that was made years afterwards.

Re: Modified art
There exist at least 2 other altered versions of Stefano Baldo's works, Beorn and Durin's Bane: I reckon he made these changes some time later, and only digitally. At least the originals of Elf-song and Durin's Bane are as on the cards (see the originals in the Gresinger Museum: https://photos.googl...

Re: Reused art
Also the other Dwarven rings whose design is discernible in the TW edition have comebacks in the LE and AS editions.

Re: Reused art
The Dwarven Rings each have their own specific features, i.e. their proper gems. It's nice to see the design from the Wizard's edition's Durin's Ring was not only taken up again by Audrey Corman for the LE's edition, but also by Liz Danforth for the Black Rain image (see also the enlarged detail on ...

Re: Modified art
Army of the Dead
The original riders (why is it riders, by the way, did the dead come with undead horses, too?) looked quite alive and were put behind a veil of mist afterwards.

Magic Ring of Guile
That's a small alteration which, AFAIK, appears only on some (German) cards: The original shows a bit of reflection of the gold ring on the leather glove above (right). For some reason that was removed for some of the cards (left).

Re: Modified art
The Way Is Shut The left panel is a scan from a print I bought form Ted Nasmith a few years ago. Looks like in the original version Gandalf appeared in the door of Moria, looking back to the watcher in the pool. Gandalf's silhouette is no longer visible neither on the card image nor on the jigsaw (...

Modified art
Some of the artwork featuring on the cards seems to have been altered for the release of the game. Let's start what might become another interesting series on artwork details ... with Palantir of Osgiliath: The left image is a scan from the print which is/was available from Ed Beard's website and va...

I much like both ideas. Maybe make the choice dependent on the actual illustration? Otherwise, make a roll, if the result is greater than ....
Oh, and in case it's Dragon Lure, maybe add the keyword "Unique".

Re: new Lure Promo - card design
I'd rather not limit the range of possible results: If the roll can be modified by +/-2 the lowest and highest results are 0 and 14, so let's make something out of these, too. I'd also enrich the highest group by adding major items. Then, I've rewritten the last sentence (to avoid any discussions if...
