New Access

Hi all, here is Vastor!

I am taking it upon myself to rework this entire post to make it clearer and easier for all to get access to SVN installation (dream card installation as some call it)

I reworked all post in all languages as well, so I hope all should work fine now

Here is what I kept from wigy's old post:
More about subversion:

http://subversion.tigris.org/

You can ask help online. I know mainly linux commandline, though, but i assume there will be soon people more proficient with subversion.

One more thing. At the moment windows binary is in different directory as it is in usual gccg-packaged version. You may need to copy content of the module_windows32 to the root directory of the stuff and then Metw.bat works as usual. We are working on it (as soon as i get 'wlk' working on it :)
if you do not understand anythin in there do not try it!

One more thing....

Of course access is read only. If you want to participate to development and be able to write as well, ask for own account. By email or gccg/metw chat or IRC (wigy@ircnet/efnet). If you are not in rush, can private message as well in the forum, but those i read once in every 4 months.

It is now working: just copy the module_windows32 folder to your gccg root directory, copy and run the updated metw.bat, that will now check for this additionnal path.

SVN explained

? I am not sure it you are using subversion or not?
well if you do not know, then you are not using it!

?what does it offer?
well it offers access to all dream cards set ARDA expanded cards, and card sounds
Further it gives one access to all other GCCGs out there:

Cthullu
LotR
MtG
NR
Pokemon
Poker

Please follow this step-by-step guide to download SVN successfully:

1st) keep all this stuff away from you other GCCG folders; there is no need to move it or any of its content after the downloads, so thing before you place it somewhere and remember it is bigger than gccg so desktop should not be an option!

2nd) create 2 new folders named "core" the other "metw" in your windows explorer

3rd) download an SVN (shared version network) download client

windows users should stick with Tortoise SVN found here:

http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.de.html

32 bit version !

4th) install the download client and restart your PC

5th) get back to your 2 new folders (from above core & metw) see under 2nd!

right click on the "core" folder and find the option SVN "checkout"

use this address:

http://svn.code.sf.net/p/gccg/svn/

confirm (click yes/ok) all the way through, in the end the folder will 102 MB)

User: ccg

PW: gcc

add these when asked for it.

6th) the download should now start (you can stop it any time you just need to finish it before it will work)

once it is done, you can start whichever game you like to try starting the corresponding ".bat" file.
meccg/metw/Satm will start using metwDC.bat (for metw dream card version) otherwise just use metw.bat

though you will not have sounds or pics for these go to 7!

7th) go back to your new "metw" folder do another (new checkout) using this address:

http://svn.councilofelrond.org/svn/metw

this folder contains all pictures and sounds and is the way bigger folder in size (700+ MB)

yours Nicolai

@edit this is the new version hopefully the final version
@once again edited and shortened/ corrected!
@ third time is the charme new metw folder address

For people willing to help, if you ask wigy for a password & user name you have to reset SVN as follows

-right click on the metw folder-TortoiseSVN
-Settings
-Saved Data
-Autorization Data
-Clear

http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads
32 Bit TortoiseSVN-1.5.7.15182-win32-svn-1.5.5.msi
Installer

Usen ese ;)

Si usan otro sistema operativo deberían usar Rapid SVN:

http://www.rapidsvn.org/download/release/0.9.6/
RapidSVN-0.9.6.exe
04-Mar-2008 00:00 4.0M

User: ccg
Pass: gcc

6th) Ahora empezaria a descargar.

Jajajaj :P)

Now french explaination of installing GCCG.

http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads
32 Bit TortoiseSVN-1.6.11.20210-win32-svn-1.6.13.msi Installer

http://www.rapidsvn.org/download/release/0.9.6/
RapidSVN-0.9.6.exe 04-Mar-2008 00:00 4.0M

please everybody do not try to update anything at the moment we are having issues, thanks to others playing in our backyard. I let you know when it is ready again!

hey all,

some issues we hope to solve work with the new core checkout above!!!

so best do a new core checkout parallel to your METW SVN folder (be sure to rename your old core folder 1st) then create new core, once it works you can delete your old core folder completely

thanks for your time, you will not regret it, as it will give you the final xml order for the DCFF project on top some other goodies

Hello gents,

thanks for your patience, you can all now update METW folder from the old checkout address, BUT I expect some of you who update rarely to run into problems (if not you got lucky) if the checkout does not work, try a clean-up and unlock commands, even several times, if nothing else works you need to redo the checkout into a new metw folder (renaming the old into old metw) checking out and then deleting your old folder

Vastor Peredhil wrote:5th) get back to your 2 new folders (from above core & metw) see under 2nd!

right click on the "core" folder and find the option SVN "checkout"

use this address:

http://svn.code.sf.net/p/gccg/svn/
When I used this address for checkout GCCG didn't work properly. Among other things all card images did not display.

With the help of zirilan I got to get it work as it should be. I simply had to add core to the checkout address: http://svn.code.sf.net/p/gccg/svn/core/

Maybe it was just an issue with my computer (Windows 8 user) but I guess this will help others as well.

So, I figured out what was wrong with mine, maybe. When I deleted old core folder, and created a new core folder, and did svn checkout. It created another core folder within that, I'm not sure why. /core/core/all the other stuff within the core folder.

Neither .bat file, DC or nonDC worked to show any cards. I deleted the first core folder so that it was just one level of core. Then it worked, both DC and nonDC .bat files work with pictures.

But my core folder was only 33 mbs, but still working.

But now I did svn checkout again, now that my core folder is only 1 level deep. And now its up to 102 mbs.

When I want to play non-DC, do I have to start it up with the bat file that is within core? Or can I use the originally bat file that comes with GCCG when you install METW. I was using the one outside of the core folder for the past few months, and not having any issues. Does it make a difference?

I did a completely new svn checkout with completely new core and metw folders, in a very different place from my other GCCG stuff. Again, it made the extra level of core folder, so I had to delete one of them in order for it to work. After doing so it all worked great.

However, I have the same problem I always did. If I run the game either DC or non DC from the core folder, it doesn't save my deck changes unless I constantly export/import. When I run the game from my GCCG folder, with the original METW bat, it saves my deck changes.

I've tried redoing the core folders and updating, like 5 times now, so that must not be the issue. But I guess I'm fine, I'll just keep running the game off the GCCG folder METW bat.

METW SVN folder has a new location:

http://gccg.arrojo.fi/gccg/metw

if your update is up to date you should have no problem adding this new address via --> SVN Command --> relocate --> enter new address.

this is due to wigy changing the hardware. the old server will be read only from now on, and will be taken down in a couple of weeks for which time both exist simultaneously.

If you run into problems with the "relocate" command try a new metw checkout under the new address.

1st post was also changed accordingly

@foreign language posts, please try to maintain the proper links for all languages por favor, merci ;)
