The community section looks really useful to me.

Instead of - or in addition to - the link section (which might be a single sticky topic), what about a newbie-centre with links, tutorials, and stuff like that?

I´ve been working on a website for some time that is aimed towards the new player. I think it is turning out great so far. It includes information about the sets, introduction to GCCG, card lists(with scans), rules, a glossary, example of play, a clickable Middle-earth-map, links to online shops, trading places, etc,. It is quite fun to do :) Hopefully I´ll soon be able to put up what I´ve done so far, although(of course) it is a work very much in progress.

I think the new structure is very good, but it might not be easy to merge forums into one (Newsletter Prep & Newsletter Showcase to Newsletter) or to move a forum to a subforum. Of course I will try my best to come close to the disussed result. Please let me know when I should start to restructure the board.

:D Start once you got the time to do so, it sure won't take more than probably half and hour.

Perhaps a section where stuff can be archived? because keeping ancient Worlds sections around seems to be rather moot, imo.

Also the need for a commercial section is debatable, as we've had a traders section around now for half a year and there is not much interest it seems.

It would be cool to have an extended rules section where there's also rules files available. Not sure if that's what you mean by F.A.Q. But if that gets us into ancient grievances and quarrels then never mind...

All rule files are available on the main page, under the heading "rules".

BUT it would be handy if we starting getting all the Digest together here for easy browsing.

I started restructuring now. The section "Online Community" is done so far; I moved "Introduce yourself" and "Link collection" as sticky topic to "General", because as forum we would potentially get one topic with one post ("Hi I am DainII"). In one topic we have a summary of all players and links. General remains, because I have no idea where to move all the posts :)

Finally, I hope I found a good hierarchy for the forums:

- Online Community
-- General (Containing "Link section" and "Introducing yourself" as topic)
-- GCCG
-- Decks

- Events
-- Calendar of Events
-- Lure of MECCG
-- Worlds
--- Worlds 2010
--- Worlds 2009
--- Worlds 2008
--- Worlds 2007

- Rules and Rulings
-- Rules Questions
-- NetRep Discussion Forum
-- JCP Discussion

- Marketplace
-- Cards for Trade
-- Cards for Sale
-- Trade Discussions

- Alternate Game Formats
-- The Arda game
-- Challenge Decks
--- Intermediate Challenge Deck Showcase
--- ICD Development
-- Dream Cards
--- Vastor's Showcase
--- Vastor's Development Zone
-- FATE
--- Showcase
--- Development
-- Scenario Games
-- Virtual Cards
--- Showcase
--- Development

- COE Discussion
-- CoE Policy
-- Agenda Items
-- Worlds Discussion Forums
--- Worlds 2007 Discussion Forums
--- Worlds 2008 Discussion Forums
--- Worlds 2009 Discussion Forums
-- Council of Elrond Motions Passed

- Technical Stuff
-- Bugs & Requests (formerly known as "Administration", "BUGS!", "Requests")
-- Newsletter
--- Preparation
--- Showcase

- "Link-collection Stores" is a duplicarte to the link section in general.
- "F.A.Q." in rules is a duplicate to Questions, frequently rule questions can be declared as sticky topic

I need some help to know who is responsible for which forum to grant moderator permissions. Please let me know if you feel responsible for a certain section :)
