I think there is one card I always thought it was a pitty that it was that bad...
no I'm not talking about the hazard Mouth of Sauron...
BUT Why did the minion character one had to be SO bad...
they knew everybody played mouth of sauron in their decks... so why does he have to be removed when he is played?
We need a new version of him... We must see him play!
But I'm not sure what he should do, but here is at least a suggestion...
but I don't want him to be too good... because of the sideboarding thing.
The Mouth
Minion Character
Mind 9
DI 4
Warrior/Diplomat Man
Uniqu. Manifestion of the Mouth of Sauron.
+2 direct influence against factions.
The Mouth of Sauron may only use starter movement.
You may tap the mouth of sauron during your organistation phase to move one recource or character from your sideboard or discard pile to your play deck and reshuffle.
The Mouth of Sauron may still be played as a short event. But the Mouth is returned to Bara-dur in additional to it's effects.
Homesite: Bara-dur
Prowles/Body: 6/8

Here's one I suggested on meccg.net:
The Mouth
9 Mind 4 DI
3 MP 6/8 Warrior/Diplomat Dunadan
Unique. Manifestation of Mouth of Sauron and the Mouth. Can use Sorcery. During your end-of-turn phase, you may bring one Diplomat Only card from your discard pile to your hand.
"But it is told that he was a renegade, who came of the race of those that are named the Black Numenoreans . . . and he learned great sorcery, and knew much of the mind of Sauron."
-LotR VI
Note that he is described as a Numenorean (albeit Fallen), not a Man. Note also that in the books he could use Sorcery.

okay then dunedain for sure.
and sorcery.
but abouth the thing with the diplomat only cards...
I think there is exactly one diplomat only card for minions... so I think this does not make sense...
maybe he can have the following abilitie:
A company with Mouth of Sauron may have Orcs and Trolls with Elves, Dwarfs and Dunedain in the same company even if not a haven.
The Mouth of Saurons company is always overt.

As I noted earlier on Tooks version: recurring Ruse is quite overpowered.

How about shuffle from the discard pile to the play deck?
Also, Join With That Power and Crooked Promptings require a diplomat.

it should be shuffling into deck...
and allowing to shuffel them into deck from reserve deck...!

I like your suggestion, Brandobras, with the ability to shuffle diplomat cards back to the play deck. I always hated the fact that the Mouth returns to your hand because the hazard short event was played. I think this will make the Mouth a good and playable character without being overpowered or making his text overcomplicated.
I think the Mouth V should allow Mouth of Sauron as a short event and disallow him as a creature. Hardly anyone will play him as a creature, but having him killed would be too annoying and strange.

if we want the disadvanted staying, we could say that if he is played as a short event, he must return to his homesite???
or he taps in additional effect???

I think if the Mouth as a hazard were disallowed if the character were in play, people would actually have to be creative with their hazard strategies instead of including the same cards every single time.Leon wrote: I think the Mouth V should allow Mouth of Sauron as a short event and disallow him as a creature. I understand what you mean. I would not have any problem with disallowing Mouth of Sauron if the Mouth is in play, as long as the Mouth character will not be so overpowered that any minion starts using him. I think your version fits this. Anything with returning the Mouth to a site etc is just too annoying.

I also think he shouldn't have this kind of disadvantage...
I don't even understand why IC inclueded it in the fist place`????
but what the heck... we are there to correct this!
so here is the final version if I got everthing right:
The Mouth
9 Mind
4 DI
3 MP
6/8
Warrior/Diplomat Dunadan
Unique. Manifestation of Mouth of Sauron and the Mouth.
Can use Sorcery.
During your end-of-turn phase, you may bshuffle one Diplomat Only card from your discard pile into your play deck.
"But it is told that he was a renegade [...] and he learned great sorcery, and knew much of the mind of Sauron."
---------
- maybe we should remove the warrior skill???
I would inclued a boni for influencing factions instead????
- and why exactly sorcery? where is the dedicated flavour reson behind spirit magic, sorcery and shadow magic???
what's the special differenc?
or is it only for the game???
- and shouldn't it be a tapping ability? it's very unusual that someone does somethign like that without tapping???
- and shouldn't the ability also bring in cards from sideboard????

Sorcery, because that is how he's described in the books.
Warrior, because a minion influencer should be able to use Threats.
No tapping for the ability because tapping abilities are of the "take to hand" variety usually.
