Here's the result of a quick look at cards that I think should be able to be sold as singles. I am sure I deleted some that should still be on this list. I am not as experienced as many. I put bold on the ones that I know are High Value.

Be sure to look here: https://councilofelrond.org/set-lists/

Anything R1 from Against the Shadow will be especially valuable (as discussed above). But any rare from Lidless Eye or Against the Shadow will be worth a few bucks. Cards like Assassin go for 10-15 because people have to put 3 of them in their deck (it's pretty much in the rules). Other cards are hardly played will just be used to complete collections. Some characters are "normal" rares but are popular and hard to find. Like Bilbo, Fram Framson, the minion Lieutenants.

Think this way, a pack of Unlimited The Wizards is about $3.50 buying a couple booster boxes. So a rare should be somewhere around there on average. Some are worth less ($1-2) even. And some are worth more, $5-10.

Lidless Eye packs are available and cost about $4 each pack when buying boxes (with shipping from https://www.gwaihir.net/product.php). But they are harder to find in the US and are valued more than $4 it seems (more like $6?).

Cards from The Dragons and White Hand are relatively cheap because entire booster boxes can be bought for $50, or even less for the Dragons. Dark Minions is a little more expensive than The Wizards but seems to have fewer rare cards that people need/want in their play decks.

Whereas unopened Against the Shadow boxes are pretty rare and most people just have cards here and there in their collections. Same for The Balrog.

Sorry I can't be more help on actual prices per card.

Thanks, that's certainly helpful. Good to see Assassin is still considered a desirable card. Pretty sure it was mandatory to use 3 back when I played also. Some how I ended up with 5

Hey Markie, I just saw your previous post where you mentioned $10 and above. Not all of those are worth that much. But I still think they could be worth selling as singles.

I'm starting to think it might just be best to list them slowly as auctions starting at a $1 a piece and let the market take it's course. Seems like there's too little historical data on ebay for many of these cards, and what is there for many is suspect is what I'm hearing.

I mean if anyone is interested in anything I listed, certainly taking offers.

Maybe let others weigh in. But I think that if you listed the more rare cards (e.g., Against the Shadow R1s, Balrog, some Lidless Eye rares etc), you'd find the market rate through a $1 starting auction because there are definitely enough people that are interested in them. But the other rares might be sold at a better price using a set listing price because people aren't necessarily watching out for them.

Kjeld wrote:For what it's worth (and I pay a fair amount of attention to Ebay MECCG prices over time), I'd put the Ebay values for what you're listing somewhere around:

Balrog Boxes: $500-$600
The One Ring (MELE): $40-$50
The Lidless Eye (MELE): $45-$55
We Have Come to Kill: $40

It is possible to get all of these for less for buyers who are very patient or purchase off of Ebay, but these are prices at which I think you'll find buyers in a reasonable amount of time.
I’m surprised by these prices. Still seem quite high to me. I would estimate:
- The One Ring (MELE): $20
- The Lidless Eye (MELE): $35
- We Have Come to Kill (MELE): $25

Of course I could be wrong, I don’t watch eBay as closely as I used to (then again I don’t trust everything I see on eBay).

If someone thinks my prices are low, well, I’m willing to sell at or close to these prices today:
- The One Ring $25
- The Lidless Eye $40
- WHCTK (don’t have extras at the moment)

PM me if interested.

Note: The prices I listed above I think are fair trade/purchase prices. I’m not suggesting copies have never sold for more on eBay, as I really don’t know.

Those are eBay prices, remember, not necessarily what you'd expect to pay if you worked directly with a seller on a site like this one. There's a premium for the convenience and of course for the fees that eBay charges, so the prices can be quite a bit higher. I'm also not suggesting that I think they'd sell right away at those prices, just that I think there's a decent chance that you might find a buyer at those prices eventually.

@ Kjeld - Fair enough.

I guess it's time for me to get some singles listed on eBay. :D I'm more curious than anything.

I could very well be wrong, but unless the seller is in a real hurry, it's worth it to highball eBay prices for buy it now. They can always be dropped if the item doesn't sell in a few weeks.

Yep, when I list eBay items, I always put the Buy It Now value at a fair amount higher than what I expect to get from the bidding. Otherwise people are just going to bid until they hit the Buy It Now price, and someone will buy it outright rather than continuing to increase the bid.

I actually pulled everything down except my extra copy of The Lidless Eye. After more thought, I decided I am not ready to part with the cards aside from extras.

As for the Buy it Now price I had put on the Blarog set, that's actually eBay. If you do an auction with. Buy it now also it requires you to list it at least 30% higher than starting bid. I didnt actually expect anyone to do the buy it now, but yeah, if someone doesnt want to play the auction game, they are welcome to pay the really high BiN price

Mark, if you are every interested in playing the game again, know that there are still a few pockets of dedicated players around the world. If you're in the U.S., there is a sub-forum here for posting events: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=105. Other countries are also on other sub-forums here. I know of play groups in Southern California, Northern California, and Colorado.

You can also look for local players on the "Global Player's List" here: https://councilofelrond.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=136. You can message Jabberwock to get added to it:

- Country of residence
- City and State (if applicable) of residence
- Current email address
- Favorite MECCG game format(s)

I will then update your info on the Global Players List and give you special permission to access this forum. Your information will only be view-able by other registered members of the forum who have also provided their info and been granted special permission. I hope this in the end will turn out to be a valuable resource for everyone.

There are also a couple of ways to play this game online. The easiest for me has been at http://cardnum.net/. This site has a playing interface, a chat room, all the card images, and the rules/errata documents. The game UI can be learned over the course of a few turns. I'm willing to show you how it works if you want. There are other players who can show you the ropes as well.

Or, if you are too busy with other games, no big deal. But we would definitely appreciate another update if you are looking to move you cards, or if you have info on market values.

Thanks CDavis7M, I've actually been chatting with Jabberwocky to learn about fair market values and various other things.

I have decided to keep my collection at this time, but if I change my mind I will post a new topic on it at that point. That said, I am open to selling/trading extras. I always wanted to get a complete set of the METW set ever since I had the players guide by ICE as a kid. I use to look through the pictures in there for hours and reading the articles. Sadly I cannot find that book any longer, so it's either in storage or my brother took it (both are highly likely)

Anyways, thank you everyone for the input and information. It's been very helpful
