Re: Exhausting your play deck when you have no discard pile
Back in 2003 or so, I had a pretty cool deck whose purpose was to have every single card in play, so I would exhaust, and have no discard pile. It was only middling-strong in tourneys... but in THEORY, it was cool! The best part was that when you exhaust, you can add cards from the SB, but then you ...

Re: Worlds 2018 in the Netherlands
Hey all! I'll be there around noon this Friday. Not sure if the lunch can be purchased separate/ a la carte for people not staying at the hotel; if it can be, I'll probably join you all. If Hero one-deck allows Virtual Set 1, I'll play. I'll also do Dream Cards (woot!). But I personally find Sealed ...

Re: When a company is at a site
It’s true that the arrival at a site during the site phase, rather than when one’s site disappears, is very unintuitive. And I'm glad to see this being studied. However, as the voting page fairly points out, changing this rule to make it more intuitive would have many effects upon game play (Hall of...

New Rule: Roving Character Space for Multiple Party Dwarves
Greetings! In my games in the States, my players and I have found, perhaps the same as you, that there are so many low-mind Dwarves in the game, yet if you include them all in your ARDA set, it seriously dilutes the Roving character pool, and makes it difficult to find a good choice of characters to...

Re: FW - Token of Goodwill with minion items
Hey guys! Does this mean that you have all concluded: 1) An FW company CANNOT discard a minion item to satisfy Token of Goodwill. 2) You CAN play Token of Goodwill and not discard an item (but then Token will not have any chance of canceling an attack). Let me know if this is what you believe. Thank...

Re: Worlds 2014
Wow! This would be exciting. I would certainly come if it wasn't GenCon weekend, and ideally not DragonCon weekend (labor day weekend 8/31). One very important thing to consider: just because it is Worlds, does not mean your average American player will come. In fact, *because* it is Worlds, many wi...

Thanks Luigi. That's how I feel as well...
And Eric, after the great success of ARDA at American GENCON convention (we ran two full 6-player games at the same time!!), I think it is time you and I spoke again!!

Re: charter rewrite: involving the players in the errata pro
It feels great to see all of this change happening. It reminds me of a quote I show my students:
"the art of progress is to keep change amidst order, and to keep order amidst change."

RE: NEW AGE RULE SET I also got excited when I saw Sauron's question, "Why not make Classic MeCCG Ruleset and NewAge MeCCG rule set?" Thorsten asked an important follow-up question about whether ICE had actually thought about creating a new rule set for the game, and two different ways to ...

Re: Erratum Discussion: Nazgûl Timing
In general, I'm in favor of making as many rulings/explanations as intuitive as possible, given that is how so many casual players play the game anyway. The judges at Magic the Gathering recently realized the same thing, and rewrote rules to match the expectations of their players. The exception? If...
