Re: Forewarned is Forearmed and removed automatic-attacks

For AAs, that's the way I'm thinking about it. For Tidings of Bold Spies, it would still be reduced since Tidings says all modifiers take effect - it just wouldn't happen until Tiding resolves and the attack starts. At that point, all effects would be applied. "Passive effect" should have ...

Re: Forewarned is Forearmed and removed automatic-attacks

The General Combat Outline ( https://meccg.com/rules/tutorials/combat/ ) lists the stages as: Play of card that generates 1 or more attacks (or satisfying a passive condition that generates 1 or more attacks) Attack Sequence Starts Assign Strikes (If not canceled. It is now too late to affect/cancel...

Re: The Witch-king

Unless there is a subsequent ruling (always a possibility), the Ringwraith follower allowed by the Witch King's and Khamul's abilities is your character for the turn. Rulings Reference: CoE RULINGS DIGEST #105 13-03-2006 Author: Chad Martin QUERY 2 Question on the follower recruitment abilities of K...

Re: Traitor and the Ring's Betrayal

I think I'm confused. From ICE Rules Digest #79 Dated 03-05-1998 From Ichabod "The underlying mechanism for Traitor is that it is an effect triggered by a passive condition." The definition of a Passive Condition is: A passive condition causes an action to happen as stated on a card alread...

Re: Comprehensive Rules

I get it. I'll put one together for myself if nothing else. Just want to avoid creating it from scratch - it's easier to update to something that already exists, even if it is out of date.

Re: Comprehensive Rules

I put one together several years ago, but there have of course been changes. I believe the current Council is working on a new version. Is this available to look at? Or has there ever been an ETA given on when it would be done? I don't have a ton of free time but happy to work on updating as I can ...

Comprehensive Rules

Is there a comprehensive set of rules available anywhere in a single document? Preferably something that is updated with the latest rulings. It's a bit of a pain to have to look through different rule books, CRF, Rulings Digests, etc whenever a rules question comes up. And that's before we get into ...

Re: Fireworks - exactly how does this card work?

Thanks! I figure that's the way it's meant and that's how I've been playing it. The wording on the card is ambiguous but, if the community is playing that way, happy to continue to do so. Even something as simple as a line break before the last sentence would clarify the intent a lot but that is an ...

Fireworks - exactly how does this card work?

Can someone explain exactly how Fireworks works? As worded, I can see two different ways of reading it and I'm not sure which is correct. The exact wording is: Ritual. Playable on an untapped sage at a tapped Border-hold or Free-hold. Tap sage. Make a roll (draw a #) and add the mind of the sage (+1...
